Image to Perler Beads

Choose an image, set the pattern size in beads, and limit the number of colors. The conversion runs on your device — your photo is not uploaded. Colors are approximate matches to a bead palette, so check them against your own beads.

1. Upload your image

PNG, JPG or WebP · 8 MB max · drag and drop or choose a file.

Your original photo stays on this device. Only a bead grid is saved if you sign in and export.

2. Choose the level of detail

More detail needs more boards and beads.

This preview uses 103 approximate community colors from BeadColors (MIT). Product references and displayed shades are not manufacturer-certified. Check real beads before purchasing supplies.

How to create and share a bead pattern preview

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image. A clear subject and simple background are easier to recognize at bead scale.
  2. Choose a grid size and color limit, then regenerate. Compare the bead and pixel views with your original.
  3. Download a watermarked preview PNG for sharing, without signing in. It shows your design and summary bead counts; it is not a complete making chart.

Choose your grid size and number of colors

Start with 58×58 beads and up to 24 colors. A 29×29 grid suits simple icons; 87×87 can preserve more detail but needs more beads. Each standard board holds 29×29 positions: divide each side by 29, round up, then multiply. A 58×58 chart needs four boards and an 87×87 chart needs nine.

Fewer colors make sorting easier but merge similar shades. More colors can retain shading while increasing the number of bead colors to find. The chosen limit is a maximum, so a simple image may use fewer colors. Conversion stays in your browser; we do not upload your original photo.

What is in the free preview PNG?

The ordinary-resolution PNG is drawn from the same bead data as the screen preview, rather than captured from the page. Each occupied cell represents one bead; transparent cells use none. The bead total plus empty cells equals the grid width multiplied by its height. A visible preview watermark identifies the shared image.

Transparent image regions stay empty. QR previews keep solid modules and their white border; the watermark stays outside them. Free PNGs do not include row and column coordinates, full production grids, board-by-board printing or a complete color-code shopping list.

Screen colors are approximate. The 103-color community catalog is not manufacturer-certified: compare physical beads before buying supplies. High-resolution watermark-free charts, full making grids, A4 board PDFs and complete purchasing lists are reserved for a future paid release. Payments and paid exports remain closed.
